Conservation vs Environmentalism

Proverbs 12:10 The righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

Proverbs 12:27 The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.

An outdoorsman that’s worth anything knows the importance of conservation. They will rotate where they hunt or fish so as not to deplete that area. Similar to how a farmer will rotate their crops to maximize production.

They also are careful to never hunt for sport. They use every piece and part of what they hunt or fish for something else. Whether it be for clothes, shelter, bait, lures, calls, or food, the true outdoorsman knows how to not be wasteful.

The lazy man, we’re told, won’t cook what he hunts. He enjoys the thrill of the hunt without taking the time to process and use what God has provided.

Climate change is real. Stand outside for five minutes and I guarantee you the climate will change. But the answer is not in more money, or in government control. The answer is in conservation. It would do us all well to learn from an old hunter, fisherman, or farmer how to conserve the land. Or better yet, a Native American that truly has love and respect for the beautiful land we call America.
